Management Skills

Audience:

Anyone new to management who has had no management training.

Duration:

Three to five consecutive or non-consecutive days

Brief Description:

This course is a comprehensive, skill-building program that prepares participants to competently perform the supervisory duties consistent with your organization's philosophy and U.S./State employment laws.   A company typically customizes this course by selecting modules from our programs to best address skills needed.  Below is a common curriculum.

Objectives:

Participants will be able to:
  • Conduct a legal interview and select new employees.
  • Identify appropriate supervisory behavior that corresponds to EEO issues.
  • Set performance objectives.
  • Conduct performance appraisals.
  • Identify a variety of techniques for providing a motivating environment.
  • Coach employees for greater productivity.
  • Use two tools for setting priorities and managing time.

Prerequisites:

Active Listening and Assertion are helpful.
